Where do I get ideas from

The most asked question i get is "Where do you get your ideas from?". For me, this has a simple answer, my memories.

I write about things that I have done or know about. If you have a memory, you have a kernel of an idea, you can expand and elaborate on it until you have a scene or a story. This is often enough to get you started.
